  • Lemon tree budding in october

    Hi

I have a lemon tree in a small pot about 2 and half foot tall. I bought it in the summer and it already had 5 lemons on it that are slowly ripening it. I feed it as described and water when dry drenching it.

I have moved it in from our now very windy northly conditions and placed it in our little porch, which is very warm and well lit, as well as humid.

In the last few days I have noticed lots of little budding, as if it is going to start flowering and then hopefully fruit.

Is that normal at this time of year? Is there anything special I need to do? My porch will get the best of the sun and is not room temperature, but certianly way above freezing throughout the winter.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

    Morris

Citrus trees can produce at any time of year so long as it's warm enough and you often get fruits of different periods at the same time. Keep it warm and fed and you shoudl be OK.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I bought an orange and a lemon tree in the spring, they were little more than seedlings, but after they were potted on they romped away. The orange is just starting to flower, but the lemon (although it's larger) has no signs of flowers yet.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
