  • Wow wow wow?!

okay, i went out to my garden today, just to have a look at my generally uneventful strawberry plants and low and behold - they are flowering!
Why is this? and what should I do? put them in my shed so they dont get frost bite?
Has this happened to anybody before?

I would think that unless you have a heated greenhouse you won't be able to get the fruits to set or mature. Might be wrong, but some of mine are flowering now and all I've done is pinch the flowers off to conserve energy for next year! Sorry!

Often happens but sadly nothing comes of them. I think you might be better nipping them off as the plants will go a bit sad in the winter anyway.

Yes, mine are flowering too. The warm weather has encouraged them. You could try protecting them from the frosts as this will kill the developing fruits. If they are newly planted this year though then remove the flowers to encourage them to make good roots rather than expend energy in fruit production

Mine are in a growbag and I have moved them into the unheated greenhouse where they are ripening a treat - I am well pleased with them - cheapos from Lidl and they have cropped superbly all through the rubbish summer. Sorry, can't tell you what type as it didn't say on them
