I want to get in some raspberries. We've had autumn bliss this year which hasn't done much as it is the first year, but we've only one "clump" (is that a technical term?!) which is on our patch at the farm - and now I've got my lottie I would like to have another couple of clumps there as well.
I was thinking of one summer variety and one autumn variety. It would be nice if at least one variety was thornless as I've told my little girl she can have a raspberry clump on her patch and I'm not sure on reflection whether a thorny one is a good idea!! Any recommendations? Or shall I just get whatever Lidl has when they come out with the £2.49 ones next week?!
Final raspberry question - I was thinking of planting them at the back of the plot which is shaded by a big hedge for most of the day, I was also thinking of putting the comfrey there - will they make good bedfellows? or should I plant them separately for best effect?
