Hi all, I'm very new to gardening having only grown some herbs on my windowsill before, but like many others currently I'm looking to try some new things and have some Strawberries in a hanging basket that have now flowered but the leaves are going brown. My question is should I be fertilising these and if so which one is best and how often does it need to be done? I'm also going to try growing Carrots, radishes, courgettes and Lettuce. Can I use the same fertiliser for this veg as well? Thanks in advance.

You want a fertiliser high in potassium for anything which produces fruit. Tomato fertiliser is your easiest option. It's not just for tomatoes; it's good for anything which produces flowers and fruit.
The tomato fertiliser would also be good for your courgettes. Carrots, radishes and lettuces should not need feeding at all; there's enough for them just in the compost/soil.
Also, if you strawberry leaves are going brown then the problem may be more lack of water than lack of food, although they doubtless would benefit from feeding, nonetheless, as a hanging basket is a pretty small volume of compost and so doesn't hold much in the way of nutrients.

Leaves could be going brown if it’s drying out,I’d water them at least every other day. Tomato feed is good for the strawberries, potassium bulks out the fruit. I just watered mine with seaweed feed it’s low nutrients I give it to most plants. A tiny bit of blood, fish & bone can be used for most plants. If you use tomato feed it’s once every two weeks when you water them, seaweed you can use every day if you wanted. BFB lasts longer in the compost,it’s a slow release fertiliser unlike the liquid fertilisers that act quick.Location : Essex
