One of the unexpected casualties if the Great Gaffuffle this year is my currant crop. Due to working all through April and May, the nets didn't go up and so when I finally got round to it, over half of the
crop had gone. What with that and the weight of the big fat wood pigeons on the bushes snapping a lot of the new growth off, I decided it wasn't worth the effort of getting the nets out and have
abandoned the crop to the birds. At least the small birds are now getting some of the more hard to reach fruit.
As the saying goes: There's always next year!!
Anyone else had any COVIDisasters?
