Dear Vine,
I’m looking for advice on when to prune plum trees. I know it needs done in summer to reduce the risk of silverleaf, but this summer has been poor here with barely 3 days in a row without rain.
I have a Victoria plum tree I planted this winter that I bought in Tesco could be 1 or 2 years old. Given the the weather is it better to try to prune now in the driest few days we get, wait a little later in the year and hope for a longer dry spell when it is still growing, or just leave pruning this year?
