  • Quick rootstock storage question

I have just had 10 rootstock delivered, thing is that when I ordered them, I did not envisage having just come out of hospital after a kidney surgery.

I just wanted to know if I can store them somewhere until I have the energy to do them, as I feel worn out right now and not read to do the graft work on them.

Any ideas really will be very much appreciated
    Thanks for looking

Shove them all in a pot (no need to separate them) full of slightly damp compost, saw dust, sand, anything really. You just need to make sure the roots don't dry out but aren't so wet that they rot. You can then put the pot somewhere out of direct sunlight, cool and protected from rain. North side of a house perfect. They'll be fine until mid march at least.

Agreed ^^^^ I’d also try and make sure the roots stay frost free if you have a really cold spell.

Good advice given above - cold, damp and frost-free will keep your rootstocks alive but dormant for quite a while.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your surgery.
