  • Young Blueberry Bushes Leaves Reddening

    Hi All,

Not sure my young blueberry tress are all to happy. I have noticed over the last week or so the reddening of their leaves. I’ve done a quick search on this and I have been suggested multiple causes.

I need to get a kit to test the PH levels myself, but when I repotted them my father in law tested the PH for me and all was good. Not sure if they are just oversaturated with water.

Just wondering if anyone could based on their experience could see the leaf colour and take a stab and potential issues and solutions?

    Thanks
    Matt

In my experience that's fairly common. I believe it's the cold which causes it, but it's not harmful, and they should turn green again when temperatures warm up a bit more.

They look fine. Young leaves are often red as are the end of season leaves.
Those containers will just about get you to flowering size.
Pot size for a decent crop is about 80L per plant of lime free compost.
I top up with rosemary clippings and wonky vegetables and so on.
Mine are in a brick built bed.
