  • Wonderberry

    Hiya,

has anyone grown the Wonderberry ?? I am just wondering cos it's a new one on me and wonder if it's worth growing. ( found it in my fav seed catalogue )
It says it is like a huckleberry, but with a far superior taste. Well, that's nothing to me never having had a huckleberry either.
So is it a goodie? or should I save the space for something else.
    Any advice welcome,
    Izi.

Hi Izi. Thank you for the welcome you just gave me on the 'introduction' thread. I see we are nearly neighbours.

I had never heard of the Wonderberry either so I Googled it. Found this:-
    Wonderberry - Solanum burbankii

I am as new to soft fruits as can be but I think I won't be bothering with these. I love rasps and have a thread going where I am getting some good advice. I just bought 10 canes plus a Tayberry which is a raspberry/blackberry cross. Looking forward to that one.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

Iv'e just Googled them Izi. From what I read I think that the space could be put to better use.

Thanks for the advice and the links. If the Wonderberry "ripe fruits don't taste like much" but the flavour is "superior to the Huckleberry" then the Huckleberry must be really bland.
So I shan't bother with those either.

It free's a bit of space for something else wonderful so I'm not too disappointed.
        Izi.
