  • Apple tree blossoming in October

    Hi all,

I've got a young Irish Peach apple tree here in Somerset that has started flowering again! It's got one bud with blossoms fully open and the other branch tips all look like they are about to blossom too. As this variety is a tip bearer I'm a bit disappointed as I'm assuming I probably won't get any more blossom next spring now!
Has anyone seen apple trees do this before? Guessing it's a quirk of our changing climate.

Yes in September 2019 on a feral tree just outside the boundary of our allotments.
It had both fruit and flowers at the same time.

It happens from time to time. One of my apple trees tried to flower a couple weeks ago (I picked them off), and my pear and plum also often throw out the odd late flower.
