Hi all, I have a grape vine that produced one bunch of red grapes last year. It is in a large square pot 65 x 65 cm. This year I pruned it as per instructions. The leaves on one offshoot are developing pale brown crispy bits around the edge of the leaf. The rest of the plant is beautifully healthy. Any ideas please. I will try to upload a photo, but never had much success at this. Cheers.

Sounds similar to mine, like that shoots dying off, mine did the same but I didn’t pay much attention to it I just let it carry on because the main vine is strong & has shoots coming off of it,when you see older vines they have a main thick single kind of trunk, train the main vine & the side shoots. The older it gets the more grapes produced.Location : Essex

I am absolutely no expert, but this link shows similar piccies of leaves with sulphur burn. Could that be the case?

Hey Jungle Jane, having thought about it, I will pick off the bad leaves, feed the plant with blood fish and bone and watch. I I I am amazed at the amount of potential black grapes I may get. Not bothered particularly about using them, they will look just brilliant on my terrace. Thanks for your input.

The weather has been awful this year.
I have seen hawthorn with the first couple of leaves on each shoot frosted.
My kiwi vine close by got cut back all but one bud that has a foot long shoot. The remaining buds have started having a second go.
You will have to put up with a delayed start this year.
My fig is only just coming into leaf.

Yes, Plot70, I’ve noticed the late start for some plants, particularly my Salvias.Last edited by Holly Daze; 21-05-2023, 07:23 AM.

Wow, just wow, Jungle Jane. Those look amazing.
Our fig tree is covered in fruit, but they're tiny, hard nuggets at the moment.
