Hi all,
we had a new patio this Spring and I fancy putting a fruit tree in a pot to replace our two containerised acers that we finally planted out.
I really like the idea of a fruit tree in a container but fear I am kidding myself as to the reality of it actually a) bearing fruit and b) not getting huge!
I do like fresh apricots, I think it's the memory of a weeks holiday in the Algarve one June. The villa had an apricot tree in the garden, and we 'nicked' the ripe fruit off it before the owner picked them all! So that gets me wondering whether it's realistic to try and grow one in a pot?
Or if not an apricot, what other fruit might actually bear fruit in a pot? Not apple or pear as we have some grafted trees in the garden itself. It's no good looking on the sites selling fruit trees because they only ever have pictures of fully laden 'mini' trees!
Thanks.
