    Hi Fellow growers.
I read a message a couple of years ago regarding a growers interest in the apple variety KEELIE, wanting more information
    l but without much success.
I also have one of these varieties but can,t remember where I bought it. Does anyone know a supplier they could recommend.
I have googled most of the well known growers without much luck.

    Hello and welcome, Albert.

I came across this thread: https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...6-apple-keelie
Is this the thread you meant? It doesn't give a supplier and in fact seems to suggest it didn't come from a specialist.

There are a number of fruit tree experts in the forum who might be able to help you. Meanwhile, I've had a look online and, as you say, it doesn't seem to be readily available. If you Google Keelie apples UK, one supplier comes up, but they say sold out. Have you tried contacting them? Perhaps they will get them in a month or so or perhaps in spring.

Edited to add: It occurs to me, if you already have one of these trees, have you considered grafting?

      Hi albert99,

I also had a bit of a google & only came up with one supplier, which is probably the one that Snoop Puss found also: https://tree2mydoor.com/products/dwa...ing-apple-tree

Although it's out of stock currently, they do have a 'notify me when available' button. I can't provide a recommendation for the site as I've never bought from them myself.

I did look but, as you mentioned, I couldn't find Keelie with any of the well known fruit tree suppliers either. I also tried looking specifically for scottish tree sellers (I think keelie is a scottish word) but no luck there either

        Hi Snoop Puss
        Thanks for your quick response.
I know the supplier you are referring too.I have left my E Mail with them, hoping they get stock soon,so fingers crossed.
My wife seems to remember we may of bought our tree in one of the supermarket chains.
I mentioned this to our local garden centre and they are of the opinion
that trees from these type of outlets mostly get there plants etc from Holland.
I have tried a few Dutch growers/suppliers but without success.
I may try grafting but was hoping for a quicker solution.

          Hi

The other thread was started by me.

The link above is one of the few references to 'keelie' that I've ever found. I suspect it is actually a different apple that has been given the name Keelie by a nursery for some reason. It's a good apple but on the small side and doesn't seem to be that great at producing spurs.
