Moss or Fungus on apple tree

Hi,
One of the apple trees on my allotment seems to have a lot of moss, mould or fungus on the branches.
Please see the photos below (apologies for the poor quality!).
Does anyone know what the problem is, how to fix it and whether or not I will get any edible apples from it this year?
Any advice welcome!

That's not moss, mould or fungus. It's lichen.
It's completely harmless. It's only using the tree as a surface to grow on; it's not feeding on the tree. And it will not grow larger or heavier.

Alot of lichens are sensitive to pollution so perhaps you have good air there

Lichen is closely related to fungi but only feed on dust and aphid goo.
If anything it might help to keep the wood warm in winter.
