  • July apple blossom

On a plot across the track from mine there is an old gnarled apple tree close to the boundary.
The weather was so cold in June that it decided it was not working properly and it switched itself off and back on again. It has restarted spring again even though it already has fruit set.
It has now got more blossom on it in July!

I also found another apple tree flowering in September 2019 within a few hundred yards of this one. It also had set fruit.

I get this quite often on my apple and pear trees. They don't usually set fruit, though.
