  • Musa Basjoo

Hi my name is Colin, I live in Spain, and have recently bought some Musa Basjoo banana plants that are showing signs of distress.
Specificially the leaves are turning brown, They are not root bound, have free draining pots, and get adaquate sometimes intense Sun.
    Any ideas ? please
    Colin

Hello and welcome, Colin, from a fellow resident in Spain.

I've never kept these plants, so have no experience to share. With any luck, someone who has will come along with suggestions. Meanwhile, if you've only recently bought them, if you got them from somewhere like a garden centre with cover, might it be that exposure to full sun in the very hot weather we've been having is causing them some stress? Might it be worth keeping them in partial shade for a bit while they acclimatise?

      Hi Cool Cat,
They were bought online, a company call Plantazon.es who in turn are suppliers in the Netherlands !
You are probably right, the may have been indoors.
I will try what you said and drop you a line later.
The Sun has been blistering over the past few days.
      Regards
      Colin
