Hi, I am looking around for suitable fruit trees to have in large pots (I already have a pear tree) and have seen the following advertised at Dobies:
Victoria Plum is the most popular and delicious of all plums. It can be eaten fresh from the tree in August but is also perfect for cooking and jam making so can be enjoyed all year round. Apple Sunset has attractively flushed skin, a crisp bite and contains beautifully sweet juices.
These trees are grown on rootstocks which have been specially chosen to be suitable for the small to medium size garden and can be grown to fruit within the width taken up by a standard 6' fence panel. Simply select your site, plant and these self fertile trees will start cropping next summer, continuing for years to come. Delivered as 4-5' trees.
it doesn't mention them being suitable for pots but it does mention rootstocks suitable for small/medium gardens... Would they be ok in pots? the price is good... hence my looking at them!
thanks, becs
