      Cheers, Mark
i do get the point, but then i cant afford £20 odd quid for a tree ...... and i do quite fancy a couple of cherry trees, so the stella at lidl, and the morello at poundstretchers, i think will suit my purposes, and i may go for a plum too

i like golden delicious, and son likes granny smiths, so it's easier to buy apples than grow them ..... cherries and plums on the other hand are expensive to buy, so growing a few punnets full will pay for the tree in one year and size isn't really a problem for me.

Mark's point I think, is pertinent to apple trees - which are tricky to grow well.

The Victoria plum is not difficult, and I would snap it up at Lidaldi if I didn't already have a 'free' one from T&M

I've bought 6 trees from Lidl. Should I stake them?
