Just got a new allotment, and I am planning on errecting a fruit cage.
It will be 4m long, and 2 m wide, with a door, about 60cm wide in the middle of a 2m end.
I plan to have a small (35cm) path down the middle of the cage for tending the crops.
I would love to have raspberry canes down 1 4m length, but I dont know how many I can fit in, or if the space is wide enough (85cm probs).
On the other side I would like some fruit bushes. At the moment I am looking at a gooseberry, loganberry and blueberry. How much space do each of these take up (I have a space 80cm wide, and 4m long to play with) I would also like to intercrop with strawberries, though that might cause problems, especially with the blueberry, which requires acidic soil.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Cheers
Hector
