  • Strawberry advice needed

    Good evening,

Lat summer i had my first runners, i pegged them all into their own little pots and eventually seperated them from the main plants, when it started to too cold i put them all in my glass porch and they are perfectly happy and growing new leaves, ive just built a raised bed which will be purely for my strawberries, my question is can i transplant these into my bed now or am i best to wait a bit longer? the bed is actually covered with fleece to keep it warm.
Life isnt about surviving the storm.....But learning to dance in the rain.

Strawberries are a hardy plant and aslong as the soil is warm then there wont be a problem transfering them, if you have space above your raised bed then try putting them in hangers, there easier to pick and the little nastys cant get to them.

Yes, my strawberries (100 + plants!) stayed out all winter and we had some very hard frosts here in Swansea. But, they're all ok including last years' runners and are sprouting new leaves! So I don't think you need to worry, plant them, they're very hardy!
