  • New trees

I've just had three dwarf Fruit trees delivered, the roots are bagged up with no soil around the roots.
On the instructions it advises that upon arrival to soak the roots in a bucket of water before planting for 6-12 hours but I won't be able to plant them out until Thursday at the earliest. Will the trees be ok in the plastic bags (just the roots) until tomorrow night/Thursday without a soak. Also should I keep them inside, out in the garden (Frost??) or in my walk-in green house (unheated).

Sorry of the stupid question, but I don't want to kill them before I plant them and the company's advise doesn't cover the above.

    Cheers

Lay them on the ground and shovel a couple of inches of of soil over the roots.
Water the soil and they'll be fine for a couple of weeks (although the sooner you plant the better they'll establish because it's rooting time right now).
Frosts aren't so hard at this time of year, so the damp soil covering should be adequate.
