Has anyone grown kiwi's? i have heard that they aren't too hard to grow and would love to try but wanted to see if anyone had been successful.

I bought a kiwi 'issai' a few weeks ago (self-fertile miniature kiwi) - it didn't look very healthy when I got it, but it's been living in a pot in the unheated greenhouse since then and it's got loads of leaves, and what I think might be a few flower buds on it... I have no idea if it will produce fruit or not, but I figured it was worth a try!

I brought it in and over the past two days a few more new shoots have appeared so I think it will be fine if you bring it indoors to recover.Hi. Hi. We've removed your signature. If you have any issues with this, please contact one of the Moderators.

hmmmmm bit worried about these Issai stories - just got one myself - only about 6inches tall at the moment with about 6 sets of leaves bursting through. Do we think they're a bit delicate when small? - they're supposed to be very hardy indeed....Last edited by JimmerG; 03-04-2009, 02:10 PM.

Thanks for replying , i now have 2 to choose from. I can't wait. I think the miniature one sounds good as i don't have loads of space and already have 4 fruit trees and i want to get some veg growing too, so a little one would probably be better for me. Thanks again
