  • could this be rhubarb?

i have found whilst clearing a bed left by prevous tennant, what i am assuming to be a rhubarb crown.

it's right in the middle of the bed and has red coloured bulbous looking parts starting to sprout. having no idea what rhubarb looks like when it starts to grow i thought i'd ask.

also if it is rhubarb, can i move it now or what can i plant along side it?

    thanks

Yup you can move it - just make sure the crown is just above soil level. If it's too deep it may rot!

Mine doesn't have leaves yet. And I'm in the Pleasant North too. I'm sure from the sound of it that it's rhubarb. If it's where you don't want it, you could try moving it now. Might set it back a bit but if it can't stay there, well, worth a go?

If it's a big red hump coming out of the ground it's rhubarb. If you don't want it where it is dig it out on a big clump of soil and move it to where you want it. Rhubarb doesn't mind being in the shade so if you have a corner that doesn't see much sun you could put it there.
