Ray Mears on Beeb Stone Age diet (?) this week was eating them, had quite positive things to say about them.

Look for ericaceous feed for acid loving plants, like heathers etc. You can buy it in liquid form which is handy if you have under-planted a blueberry with cranberries and can't get at the soil easily. I use a feed that also has Iron in it, not sure why but it helps acid loving plants.
