Strawberries

Hi Folks

My strawberries were doing great they had nice big flowers on and after they dropped had some nice strawbs.
The problem was a couple of weeks ago i got my first greenhouse and as the weather at the time was very unpredictable ( Cold and Windy ) i decided to put them in the GH still in the pots so they were not disturbed.
After a couple of days all the strawb started to turn brown and have gone hard so thinking that the GH is too hot i have put them outside again
My next door neighbour has his in pots and left in the garden and his have turned the same.

Any suggestions ???

Sorry no,but my outdoor ones are just starting to turn red.They are elvira,free from g w.I;m Sorry that yours are a bit of a problem,maybe one of the more experienced strawberry growers could help?

Brown leaves could be:
- wind burn
- over watering
- drought

Hi here are some photo's

Can't understand they were all ok till i put them in the GH but then again my neighbour didn't put his in a GH
All the leaves look great and the same on my neighbours

The foliage looks fine, but the fruits are black! Yuk

Not sure what the problem is (but bad weather <frost?> before you put them in the greenhouse seems the likely cause if it has also affected your neighbour), but I would remove the blackened fruits and their stalks, so as not to risk spreading a disease (if it is a disease).
You don't mention which variety, which mght be helpful for a diagnosis, since most fruit varieties have known issues or disease problems.

Don't know which type had them for a couple of years my neighbours have been there at least 5 yrs
may get rid and start a fresh next year if nothing happens this year
I have removed the old fruits and hoping new growth starts soon
