  • pollinating honey dews

    Hi everyone.

I have two very large honey dew melon plants taking over my conservatory, my question is can i use a male flower of one of the plants to pollinate female flowers on the other plant?

I have a couple of female flowers with fruit at the bass on one plant but no male flowers yet. where as on the other plant i have only male flowers as yet.

    Thank you

Course you can - how do you think bees do it? They go from flower to flower gathering pollen and distributing it indiscriminately (hope I spelled that right). You can use a small paintbrush to transfer the pollen
