Sorry if this has been answered before, i did look but could not find an answer for my question.
I got a young strawberry plant with a few fruit on it, it also had a runner as well, i decided to forgo a bigger bounty of fruit this year and pegged the runner down into a pot with the plans of increasing the amount of plants ready for the next couple of years instead.
My question is that the runner has not stopped, the segment i pegged down has started taking root quite well and leaves are growing steadily but the runner tip is now another foot away with a new bud ready to start another plant, it is sensible to peg it down again or should i cut the extended bit off and wait for the main plant itself to send more runners out?
