I bought Worcesterberries from my local greengrocer - they were wonderful. does anyone have any information about where I could buy some plants, how toi grow them etc?
I think we may have some of these growing (we were given 2 plants by a plot neighbour, she said they were Gooseberry / Blackberry cross, but the general consensus of opinion on the vine is that they are Worcester berries or perhaps Jostaberries), I guess we wont know till they grow and fruit next year! lol!
Anyhows, here's a couple of links, the general consensus is that you hrow them the same as you would any other soft fruit canes (raspberry, bramble, loganberry etc).
You're a fountain of knowledge! Thanks for the links, I'll have a look at them later. The Kiwi-fruit jam is delicious. I'm not forgetting about the info you asked for, I'm awaiting a reply from my friend.
Lol! Nope, not me, Nick the Grief and a few others are the fountains of knowledge around here, I'm usually the one asking most of the questions! lol!
Thanks for geting the info from your friend, its one of the few fruits my Daughter willingly eats, so if we can grow some then it can only be a good thing!
Watch out for the spines though, wicked with a big W.
Actually if you had saved the seeds from in your purchased berries you could have grown some bushes for yourself. They are a species and so come true from seed. We get them popping up all over where the blackbirds drop the seeds.
