Blackcurrant

Some of you may recall a competition a while ago run by Ribena with prizes of blackcurrant cuttings. I won one a recived the cutting recently, me and my mum planted it this morning. Does it matter if it is not 1 inch above the soil, mine is about 8 inches tall and 5 inches poke out? Also I would be super grateful if you could help me with advice on how to grow it.

Hi Soobeth, I would push it further down so that 1 or 2 inches show. You want this to grow lots of shoots from below ground if possible and the more buds you have under the more you will get.

After about 5 months I got 4 in the post over the last few days. Planted them in pots in the greenhouse today.
