    Has anyone ever done this? If so any advice?

      It is a long story but basically I might be moving somewhere, where you can not buy gooseberries and taking seeds is a lot easier.

        Well, if you must grow from seed......

        Extract the pips from the fruits. Let them dry for a day.
        Then put them in a small container in the fridge for a couple of months or more.
        Then plant the pips and see what happens.


        You could also try planting some directly into pots and leaving them outside all winter......and also planting some into pots now and seeing if they'll germinate in the warm of your house.
