    Hi All

I planted a few Strawberries in my allotment a few months ago, they where in a pot in the graden , got a few strawberries but decided to plant them in my allotment when I found out the plants last for about 3 years.

Should I cut off the green leaves to help them grow better for next years fruit?

    Thanks

Hi Lozza 9, I usually only cut off the scruffy looking old growth on the strawberries in late autumn so if you have a lot of old tired looking leaves I'd say give them the chop but if they are newish & green I would leave them on now to protect the new growth, but then again I'm no expert!

I tend to leave the growth in late autumn to protect the new growth over winter. Then I clean them up in spring, start taking runners in the second year.
      Best wishes
