  • Mara des Bois runners

Hi, have done some searching for this and can't seem to find an answer. I've got some Mara des Bois strawberry plants which I bought last year. They're still flowering/fruiting but don't seem to be interested in producing runners. They have however formed several crowns. Is this how this variety reproduces and can they be split? Anyone have any experience of this?

They do form runners. They are perennial fruiting which is why they are still fruiting, but they will stop when the frosts come.

Mine have runners....and lots of Strawberries too, very yummy!
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Cheers for the replies - a few did send out runners early summer but I only rooted one, cos I planned on waiting till later on, now they don't seem bothered which is odd. But what's with the multiple crowns that have formed? Is that normal?
