Went to Tenerife an saw this fruit in the grounds of the hotel. They served these one day in the restaurant and all the waiter said that they are local fruit. Does any know of them or seen them.

The leaves and fruit look like some form of loquat or nispero (eriobotrya japonica) except for the markings on the skin. Can't quite make out what those are. I know that there are different varieties of loquat (I've got a baby one) including green and yellow but those markings have me baffled. What are they?Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
