  • Pinot Blanc Grape vine

I bought 2 of these from Homebase today and they do look a bit spindly and sorry for themselves.

Bearing in mind I am in Scotland (about an hour North of Edinburgh), what should I do with them?

I have an unheated greenhouse, an unheated conservatory/sun room and a conservatory attached to the house which we only heat when we are using it in the winter. Summer of course everything is roasting!

I also have the ground of course!

    Thanks

Don't know much about your area's weather SN but I can tell you that the Pinot blanc vine likes warm days and cool nights. Iwould grow them in as large pots as you can manage in the semi-heated conservatory. I assume it is not particularly warm at night so should suit. I just hope you don't mind building a trellis structure in your conservatory. My neighbour has one and it looks phenomenal with some unknown grape growing up it.

About the spindly, then I would plant them and prune them right back about January. Let them establish first but don't try pruning too late. You must prune whilst dormant. If you need advice for future years (you won't get any fruit for 3 or 4 years) then just Google 'pruning grape vines'. There is loads of advice.

Best I can suggest i'm afraid but hope it is some help.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
