    Does anybody know anything about looking after vines? I've got one on my allotment, which the previous tenant says grows well with loads of grapes. It grows outside, over the boundary fence. At the moment I've cut it back a bit and mulched round it with some rotted manure. Anything else I should do?

    must ask....noshed as in no shed, rather than noshed as in over eaten??
    Sorry don't know much at all except they are pretty time consuming .Rewarding though.

      Pruning grapevines

      You have to identify whether it is outdoor or indoor, the rootball may be outside but could have been fed into a greenhouse (common way of growing). However, if it is outdoor, you need to look at this:

      There are several ways of doing a vine, especially if its established, you can really get it up above your head, in the following ways:




      Always make sure that your pruning tools are clean and that you prune the vine in the dry, if rain is forecast, don't prune, they are susceptible to rot.
