  • Cherimoya or custard apple

Hi the grapes, i have put a bunch off seeds from a Cherimoya fruit into a pot of compost and a month later 5 or 6 seed have germinated. They still on the rooting stage and i am wondering what id do next and if anyone knows how do i look after a Cherimoya tree.
Dont judge a plant by it's pot.

I'm not too sure how well they'll grow in this country as I've only ever come across them in much warmer climates but it could make a nice house plant - suggest you google on this one.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Take a look at Jungle Seeds website for info - I know they sell them.

I've met these in South Africa. They are 'interesting' rather than attractive in the sense that a Sharpei dog is interesting. Let's be honest - plum ugly but at least a Sharpei can be affectionate. Presumably they will grow to a restricted size in a large pot but outdoors is where I have seen them in, alas, a far warmer climate than even the Scilly Isles. Their leaves have a rather horrid scent and the flowers are unpreposessing and never seem to fully open, not that you will get flowers here.

Sorry to sound 'glass half empty', I love growing unusual plants myself, but I really think that you would find it very difficult and not worth the effort growing a 40 foot, smelly tree in your living room, which would never fruit (the tree not the room).
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

ew. Cherimoyas taste funny too. Like bubblegum gone off. Try sprouting a Mango, they're much more rewarding.

Hmmm, maybe I need to rethink, seem to remember having a whole house like that as a student and it wasn't very nice

it grows well in spain but i dont like the taste

if you understand spanish try infojardin

i llooked it up and it doent like frost

you also need to pollinate the flowers yourself

you prune it by letting light into the middle

i have never noticed it smells

it doesnt fruit well above 30 degrees but as it never gets there in uk no problem
