Hi Folks - just a quick query - I'm about to launch my winter pruning and I wondered how I disinfect the pruners /loppers in between plants so that I don't spread any nasties. The GC was totally bemused by my query (but then, they usually are!)

At my new allotment gardening evening course, our guy recommended antiseptic wipes as the easiest and quickest way. He said they should be disinfected between each bush/shrub/tree etc.Caro
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day

I've used anticeptic wipes after cutting back blighty toms, don't know if this is best but I didn't get any more blight afterwards
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I spray with WD40 to keep them in good condition, this will also serve to kill most spores/fungi etc.

Last year my pruning kit included a bottle of a well known Vodka (note: other vodkas can be used with similar results): Rockingham Forest Cider: Pruning
On a grafting course we used disinfectant wipes, so perhaps best save the vodka for other uses...
