I'm confused about the rhubarb advice. I've just split and moved my crown for about the third time in ten years. In the past I've always used the rhubarb the following spring, but read advice that it shouldn't be used for 1 year from one viner to 3 years from another. WHY ????

Hello Norm
My rhubarb is so vigorous I can dig it up and anything left still shoots. I pull it that same season, with no ill effects. Perhaps it depends on the type?~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Thanks for the info good peeps. I'll play this one by ear, or sight, as the case may be. There again, at my age, with the bins getting thicker annually and the lugs getting selectively worse (usually when she-who-must-be-obeyed wants something) I'd best go by feel.Last edited by Norm; 21-01-2007, 10:22 PM.http://norm-foodforthought.blogspot.com/
