Blueberry bushes

One of these bushes seems to be a lot healthier than the other:

Does anyone know why this might be?

The bushes were purchased in April last year and potted up with ericaceous compost. Does this need to be changed annually?

Also, do they need a larger pot? The present ones are 13" diameter.

For this time of year they both look OK.

I would only repot when the root ball got too big, but 13cm is a very small pot. I use 30cm pots.

I like to put bark chippings on the surface of the soil, as this helps with water retention.

Make sure you only water with rainwater!

They look healthy to me, and just like mine - sounds like you have done everything it says to do. I wouldnt worry unless you dont get any new growth at all. (Remember the rainwater as Jeanie says )

Are they different varieties??
I have 3 different ones- and they all look different shape wise and bud development.

That's how there supposed look this time of year Yorky, a 13" pots fine, if they have there root popping out of the bottom then transplant them, if not I wouldn't bother they do like to be a little snug in there pots.
