I bought some lychee at the weekend and have just deseeded them. Apparently the seed germinates quickly and produce very attractive shrubs. They are not likely to bare fruit in this country but anything is possible. Gwan I challenge you. Keep me company in this experiment.

I'll send you a baby lychee tree if you want Bren. Every year I try this. Every year I produce a few scrawny looking saplings. Every year I just get bored with them and throw them in the compost bin. I have 3 on the go at the moment. I can bear to part with 2 if anybody wants one. Although I'll keep one as usual until I sober up and realise that it is not very attractive. Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

I don't know. You may find it attractive, or think that I am growing it wrong but this one is 3 months old. I've tried one up to a year before I lost patience when it was just as scrawny.Attached FilesWhy didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

I grew one many years ago. It did prodcue the most pathetic, straggly looking vine as Sarraceniac says. I got fed-up watering it in the end.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
