You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

find them and pick them off. They aren't a huge problem

They are both pretty good at shrugging off a bit of attack like that! Just keep your eyes open for obvious caterpillars and encourage the birdies to do likewise!
I found that snails like to lurk around my bay as well - it may be worth checking.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Looking at the damage to the bay I would suspect snails.

My Bay was nibbled by vine weevils, are you growing it in a pot/tub?? If you are check the soil for little cream coloured grubs, if you find any stamp on them and change your compost in the pot/tub.

Both in tubs, only just dug the olive out of the main boarder as it was being shaded by the fig tree.

Do you think the damage is recent or could it have been done last year when the weather was warmer, Liza? The vine weevils don't start their weevilly tricks until it gets warmer. It wouldn't hurt to water on some weevil killer when the soil temperature is up a bit.
