  • Moving berries!

I'll be asking this for many years to come as I'm not very good at being organised

Some of the raspberry and loganberry canes have started sprouting all over the place. I would like them to be moved to one area. Is it too late now that they have started growing? I think most of them were summer fruiting as we ran out of raspberries quite quickly.

I meant to mark them last year but it was battling the brambles (and still is a little bit).

I also found 2 malling promise canes () that probably should have been planted out a month ago. Still ok to get them out into the ground?

And while clearing a flowerbed, I found a gooseberry that the birds planted. Is it ok to move or do I mark it and move it later?

    Thank you lovely peeps

Raspberries and loganberries you can still move, but be quick. Make sure they are transferred to their new quarters as quickly as possible - don't let them dry out. Get the new spot prepared, and then lift the ones you want and plant them straight away. As for the gooseberry, I wouldn't bother. As it's a seedling it almost certainly come true to type.
