first raspberry

dont know if any of you remember but i posted back in early feb about my excitment about having got raspberry canes from my brother in laws allotment well .... i am very pleased with picking my first raspberries yesterday (ok it was only 5 but at least its a start ) do i now just feed once a week or is that too often ? oh and they were absolutly yummy didnt even make it into the house yum yum x

I was the same Fi, it was only when I read your post that I looked at Tracy's location.
No idea what you're supposed to do, I dont do anything to mine except water if its really really dry, although if I do water, its always with a very weak comfrey juice.

I don't feed mine but mulch round the stems with soggy newspaper and lawn clippings to try and keep the weeds away.

sorry to shock you guys have just looked on the net and its all relevent to the uk climate which isnt much help..i cant think that giving them a bit of a feed now and then shouldnt do any harm though do you ?

You can over-feed so go careful. I think that where you are that Binley's mulching idea is a good one. Not necessarily to keep the weeds away but to keep moisture in. They don't like it dry.
