Mozzie nets

I have just been clearing out 'understairs cupboard' and making a pile of unwanteds. I added 2 mozzie nets to the pile and then had second thoughts. What great fruit cages they could make over my raspberries.

Do mozzies eat raspberries?

they'd be good over peas to keep the pea moth off, or over carrots for the root fly

They'd certainly keep out raspberry beetle ( 1/8" long)

I was thinking of the pesky little birds that enjoy soft fruit as much as me.

Don't bother netting raspberries as the birds always seem to leave me more than enough. Now strawberries are another thing altogether.

I use mozzi nets over small plum trees to keep the wasps off the fruit. Very effective.
