When we moved in to our house about 2.5yrs ago we obviously inherited everything in the garden too. We got some wonderful strawberry and raspberry plants but we also got what I'm pretty certain is a blackcurrent bush. This will be our 3rd summer in this house and despite A LOT of flowers we have literally only ever seen about 20 berries on the whole bush. The bush itself is thriving with plenty of new growth. I have to admit I've never pruned it firstly because there were other things that needed seeing to in our house/garden and secondly because I don't really know what I'm doing. I know you can get ornamental blackcurrent bushes but I'm guessing since the previous owners of this house liked their fruit bushes/trees/vines that this one isn't ornamental. Oh and we actually got another couple of bushes (that seem to have sprung up of their own accord since we have been living here) in another part of the garden but they are a lot smaller and do have berries forming on them. Could it be that the one I'm talking about isn't getting enough sun or something?

Maybe the birds fancied them. My chickens nick mine!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I'll take a couple of picks later to show you.
I suppose it could be the chickens but I check the bush most days for berris and haven't really seen any berries. Unless they are getting to them before me. It could be the position if they like sunny positions as it is on the shadier side of the garden. If it is when would be a good time to move it.
Daft question, how would I go about taking cuttings?
Thank you for answering. Knew you wouldn't let me down
