  • Fruit Trees

Hi all, I have an Apple,Pear and Plum tree this is the first full year. We lost most of the flowers on the pear tree due to the wind. The Apple tree has loads of fruit on it. What is the best thing to feed them????

Are they growing in pots, or in open ground?

Don't feed too much nitrogen if you have a heavy fruit load, otherwise the fruit will get bitter pit. Some varieties are more prone to bitter pit than others.

Apart from nitrogen, you can probably feed as much other nutrients as you think appropriate for the age/size of the tree.

For most established trees, they shouldn't need much summer feeding if you give them a light compost mulch during each winter.
