  • stopping an outdoor grape

I have a grape growing outside on a south faceing wall,
the side shoots are about 2 ft long and each contains a small bunch of grapes.
Do I stop the side shoots or let them grow?
    thankyou for any advice.

depends if you are growing it for fruit or for foliage (to cover the wall, provide shade etc).
I have a number of vines which are used for shade or as a hedge ...i leave them to grow but take out some of the side shoots. I prune them right back in January/February.But I take out every third bunch to make certain i get some decent grapes (the vines are soooo old and the grapes are always small)
