Bugs on strawberries

Hi all...I have just harvested my first ever strawberries.....2....I will wait till hubby and kids come home so we can have 1/2 each!!

Anyway my question....overnight I suddenly seem to have loads of greenfly and (as I have just researched on the internet!) whitefly, which I had never seen before.

I get loads of grrenfly on my orange blossom every year that i attack with washing up liquid/water mix, which seems to kill the critters but also sends the leaves brown and mangled (unless thats what the critters did)

So after spotting these i reached for my handy spray and have squished a load and given the leaves a spray...but not the fruit....

Now I am panicing...did I do right.....total novice here!

I think maybe you're making your spray mix a bit too strong. You don't need too much washing up liquid.
