  • Raspberry beetle again

    Hi

this year I was determined not to have these bugs on my fruit or maggots in them so decided to get a pyrethrum based spray and get them that way but I still have them! Does anyone know why?

I think ua re supposed to spray at 80% flower petal fall on hybrid berries and on raspberries when they are ripening and then 2 weeks later but maybe I have done it wrong.

appreciate any help for next year or this year!

    thanks
    Sarah

They are worse in summer rasps. Autumn fruiting ones aren't as badly affected

RHS says that deltamethrin (Bayer Sprayday Greenfly Killer) is better than pyrethrum. Of course, remember to spray in the evening when the bees have gone to bed.
