  • Olive Tree's Preferences

I have just purchased an 'olea europea' olive tree and would like some info an what i should do with regards to planting medium.
I have a large terracotta pot that is to be it's home following the untimely death of my blueberry earlier this year.
I was wondering what sort of compost do olives favour?
    Are they acid loving ?
I know it needs to be free draining and gritty but i am hoping someone can help me give it the best start.

I got a small olive tree last year. It was looking very sad. Having re-potted the plant in a gritty loam based mix it is now looking much healthier with many more leaves than when it was in the peaty compost the shop provided it in. I also change the pot from plastic to terracotta. I know little about olives but at least mine is now healthy.

I hope your query generates some answers as I could also do with some pointers.
